B.com. is a three-year undergraduate full time course spread over six semesters, which confers a graduate degree to the student. It can be pursued after completing 12 th standard examination.

In this programme,, candidates are taught core subjects related to commerce and finance. In the three-year duration, the candidates are given options to choose from a few elective subjects too. The programme is usually spread over six semesters during which the student is taught topics like financial accounting, corporate tax, economics, company law, auditing, business management, etc. The last few years have witnessed changes in the commercial and industrial world including the GATS, GST, Companies Act 2013, Competition Act etc. As Liberalization, Privatization and Globalization brought out the whole world into a global village the present B.Com syllabus is designed to equip the students with the current scenario of market and economy.

Curriculum

First Year (Semester- I)

The subject in semester I is designed to enable the learners to understand new forms of concepts in core course and their applicability in the business.

The subject teaches a student to use the fundamental accounting equation to analyse the effect of business transactions on an organization's accounting records and financial statements.

Youth of today are entrepreneurs of tomorrow. Our nation needs young entrepreneurs to create job opportunities for others. Considering this it is essential for the learners to gain knowledge and understanding about Business and Service sector. This course is designed to enrich the learner with basics of Business such as what are the requirements to start with business. How to design a project, what qualities are needed to become an entrepreneur etc.

The subject in semester I introduces basic concepts and laws in Microeconomics such as demand, supply, cost and revenue.It also teaches to solve problems related to those concepts.

This course involves the study of theory of communication including the process, the methods used, the channels ,objectives of corporate communication.

This is covered in one unit while the second unit focuses on the study of business correspondence including personnel correspondence and the third unit includes writing skills.

This semester emphasises on introduction of the field of nature and it’s processes to the field of commerce as nature remains the base for every activity of commerce field. Apart from this importance of local resources, food and water; their availability and abuse is introduced to learners.

This subject is introduced to create a sound base of life. It mainly creates awareness of various social issues and solutions to the issues.

It also includes basic writing skills such as letter writing, essay writing, comprehension etc.

The aim of this course is to provide students an exposure to topics in their study of Economics, Commerce and Accountancy. In this semester, the students gain a good understanding of some of the Operational research related problems, Commercial Mathematics, Probability theory, Matrices, Counting Principles of which Permutation and Combinations and Basic Statistics.

First Year (Semester- II)

) The subject in semester II is designed to know the concepts, nature and purpose of financial statements in relationship to decision making.

The subject teaches how to use a basic accounting system to create the data needed and accounting information to solve a variety of business problems.

This course mainly focuses on the Service Industry and its prospects in India. The learner will also gain the knowledge about Service industry and upcoming trends in it. This course highlights on the latest developments in E-Commerce, E- Payments etc. Retail industry is flourishing and considering the same latest developments in retail industry such as E-Tailing is also included in this course

The subject in Semester II includes various forms of markets, pricing practices and investment decisions.Here students learn to apply concepts learnt in semester I.

In the second semester, an extensive study of group communication is included with its different types like committees,conferences,group discussion and so on.

The second unit includes the study of business correspondence and report writing.While the third unit is about language and writing skillsincluding topics like report writing.

This semester reveals the role of the citizen in regulation of environmental processes while making effective use of that for revenue generation through different legal provisions. This also introduces different contemporary environmental issues at local as well as global level and the role responsible citizen in addressing those.

This semester talks about various personal issues such as stress, conflict, temperament management etc. It also includes topics like values, superstitions, various family systems. One module is dedicated to make students aware of the importance of research.

In this semester, the topics like Operational Research, Financial Mathematics, Basic calculus, and estimation of data using Statistical techniques like Regression Analysis and time series are introduced.At the end of the semester the course enables the students is well equipped to meet the requirement of the industry

Second Year (Semester- III)

The subject in semester III teaches Basic Knowledge to work out claims of insurance in case of loss of stock and loss of Profit in Fire Insurance.

The subject in semester III introduced the basic Corporate Accounts to enable student to have in-depth knowledge of Corporate accounting in T.Y.B.com.

The youth of today are managers and decision makers of tomorrow. It is essential for young generation to learn various aspects of management and organisational behaviour. In this course Management and Organisation Behaviour, we try to enlighten the learners with various management functions such as planning, staffing, directing, controlling, decision making etc.

This paper introduces various concepts in macroeconomics such as National Income, Aggregate Demand, Aggregate supply, inflation, consumption etc.It makes students understand the economy in a better way.

This course enables them to get an exposure to both indoor and ourdoor performance.Hence fields like corporate preparedness, contemporary economic scenario, awareness about legal education enables them to understand the various avenues in the area of career planning and preparation towards taking up a professional path.

Business law is a body of law which governs both business and commerce and is often considered to be a branch of civil law which deals not only with private law but also with public law. It gives the business fraternity an insight of the legal provisions that regulate formation of contracts their scope of operation and the contract dissolution process. It also aims to focus on creating awareness about consumer rights and the mechanism involved for violation of such rights .

Business survives, grow and prosper only due to customers and advertising creates customers. So it is essential for a commerce graduate to learn about advertising who is planning to enter business world. Advertising is one of the creative fields in commerce which can bring miracles into business world. A company can reach to audience and convey about their products or service with the help of advertising.

This course aims to make students aware of various data communication tools, networking, information security techniques and Data Mining and includes MS-Excel.

Second Year (Semester- IV)

The subject in semester IV teaches the New form of Business LLP Limited Liability Partnership. Its form, advantages and legal requirements and distinction between traditional partnerships and corporate forms of businesses.

At The end of the academic year the student will have a complete knowledge and skill to handle the accounts of Partnership firms which is a recognised widely accepted form of business.

This course is newly included to enable the learner understand various aspects of Organisational behaviour which influences the working of Organisation. Topics such as Organisational behaviour, stress and conflicts, organisational culture, Organisation Development, Personality Traits etc. will enable the learners to understand the various aspects of organisation.

This course teaches various aspects of public finance such as Public Revenue, Public Expenditure, Public Debt and Budget

This semester includes topics such as aspects of career competence, technology, disaster management etc.

Business law in the context of commercial activities refers to a buyer and a seller of goods commodities and intangible properties like patents, copyrights, trademarks. Most of it addresses various types of business organizations which include laws about entities, such as corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies.

In this course “Advertising” , learner gains knowledge about basic terms used in field, how advertising is connected with marketing, different types of advertising, media, planning in ad making, advertising agency, creativity in advertising etc.

This semester deals with topics in two key areas DBMS using MS Access and Visual Basic with real life applications

Third Year (Semester- V)

The subject in semester V is designed to enable the learners to understand new forms of concepts in core course and their applicability in the business.

Accordingly, the subject includes the various advanced accounting concepts of Internal Reconstruction, Company Final Accounts, Personal Investment Accounting and LLP.

Cost accounting is defined as "a systematic set of procedures for recording and reporting measurements of the cost of manufacturing goods and performing services in the aggregate and in detail. It includes methods for recognizing, classifying, allocating, aggregating and reporting such costs and comparing them with standard costs.

Accordingly, the subject includes the preparation of cost sheet, Reconciliation of cost and financial accounts, Material Cost, Overheads and Budgetary Control.

Management accounting is a profession that involves partnering in management decision making, devising planning and performance management systems, and providing expertise in financial reporting and control to assist management in the formulation and implementation of an organization's strategy.

Accordingly, the subject includes vertical format of profit & loss A/c and Balance Sheet, Trend Analysis, Comparative and Common Size Statement, Ratio Analysis and Cash Flow Statement.

The current era is an era of marketing. Customers are emperors. With fast changing technology marketing is also undergoing major changes. The course tries to unfold various aspects of marketing which is need of hour to be industry ready. Four modules cover basics of marketing up to the technical aspects in it.

Objective of the course is to acquaint the students with the various aspects of Indian Economy. India has three important sectors known as agriculture, industry and services. The course will introduce them the various policies implemented and changes in the trends due to that.

Direct Tax is a form of collecting taxes applicable on the general public by the means of their personal income and wealth generated and collected through formal channels and worthy government credentials such as Permanent account number and bank account details.

Accordingly, the subject includes computation of income under the head salaries, house property, other sources and computation of tax liability.

An indirect tax such as goods and services tax (GST )is a tax collected by an intermediary such as a retail store from the person who bears the ultimate economic burden of the tax such as the consumer and hence GST has been introduced in semester V

Export trade is essential for every Nation. Government of India provides various incentives and assistance for exporters from India. There are various Promotional Organisations working towards export development and assistance. The Course Export Marketing is designed to develop an understanding of Export Trade from India.

Investment Analysis includes selecting the type of investment that best suits an investor's needs, or evaluating individual securities such as stocks and bonds to determine their risks, yield potential, or price movements.

Accordingly, the subject includes introduction of investment and portfolio, time Value of Money, Securities Market, Investment avenues in India, Portfolio Analysis and Selection

The objective of this paper is to introduce various concepts of Database implementation of MySQL query. Students learn the use of PowerPoint and Excel

Third Year (Semester- VI)

The subject of semester V is designed to know the process of recording, summarizing, and reporting of transactions resulting from business operations over a period of time.

Accordingly, the subject includes various advanced accounting concepts of Amalgamation of companies, Profit Prior to incorporation, IFRS and IND AS Foreign Currency Transactions and Buy back of equity shares and its Practical approach.

Cost accounting provides the detailed cost information that management needs to control current operations and plan for the future. Cost accounting information is also commonly used in financial accounting, but its primary function is for use by managers to facilitate their decision-making.

Accordingly, the subject includes Marginal Costing, Standard Costing, Contract Costing, Process Costing and Budgetary Control.

An audit is an "independent examination of financial information of any entity, whether profit oriented or not, irrespective of its size or legal form when such an examination is conducted with a view to express an opinion thereon

Accordingly, the subject includes Basics of Auditing, Audit Planning Procedures and Documentation, Audit Techniques including Vouching and Verification and Specialised Audit.

Human resource is the most important as well as sensitive resource. With changing trends in HRM the subject has acquired new dimensions. The course has covered various aspects such as introduction to Human Resource Management, Human Resource Development, and Human Relations etc.The youth of today are managers and decision makers of tomorrow. It is essential for young generation to learn various aspects of Human Resource Management.

Objective of the course is to acquaint the students with the concepts and aspects of International Economics.It focuses mainly on the trade theories right from classical to modern. Also It teaches the concepts with practical usage such as Exchange Rate, Balance of Payments, WTO and processes like hedging, arbitrages, speculations. It also introduces them with the Euro Currency market.

The subject in semester VI includes computation of income under the head business & Profession, Capital gains and Computation of Tax Liability.

The syllabus includes levy and collection of CGST, SGST and IGST, Registration of GST, Payment of Tax and Refunds.

The course Export Marketing in semester six gives an overall idea about export procedure and related aspects such as export finance, incentives and assistance, documentation, International Environment etc.

Portfolio management requires the ability to weigh strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats across the full spectrum of investments. The choices involve trade-offs, from debt versus equity to domestic versus international and growth versus safety.

Accordingly, the subject includes evaluation of Portfolio Performance, Taxes & investments in India, Asset allocation and Portfolio management, Portfolio mix, Bond valuation, Fundamental analysis, Capital Asset Pricing Model, Efficient Market Theory.
