Cultural Activitives 2012-13


Cultural forum is the platform for students to showcase talent in different fields  like Art, Stage, Dancing,  Singing  etc
We started our event with Teachers Day celebration. Inaugural   function of vibrant and enthusiastic cultural forum was in month of September after the students committee formed. The glimpses of cultural forum (Lamhein and Asmita 2011-2012) was shown to students.
Students participated in various events in Intercollegiate Festivals & won the prizes in Fashion  vogue ,Street Dance, Tug of war, Man v/s food.
Intra college   event started with competition like Dance, Singing, T-shirt panting, Rangoli, Face painting ,Quiz, Debate.
Annual Day function was a grand show of performances by students.
Next was our most awaited  event  LAMHEIN
This year theme was Jashne -a- mela. It was organized by three institutes of   Somaiya  Vidyavihar. The event included were Performing Art, Fine Art, Literary Art and Gaming. Students across Mumbai colleges had given their participation.
All events would not have been possible without the support of our beloved  Principal, Vice Principals, Teaching and Non Teaching staff.
But the event wouldn’t be successful without the support of students. 


 Our Program began with lighting of Lamp by our Vice Principal Dr. Verma Sir and Prof. Bhoge Sir at 9.am and followed by our Campus Prayer.

Campus Prayer was recited by Miss Samata Satam, Miss Hitika Sharma and Janhavi Kulkarni.

Next in line was Ganesh Vandana “Ek Dantaya Vakrtundaya” song presented with graceful Bharata Natyam by Miss Jyothi Pillai.  It was wonderfully performed and appreciated by the audience. 

PRASAD and Group followed another dance number which was a fusion of Rock and contemporary dance form. They were called BEAT BREAKERS.

Principal Dr. Vijay Joshi sir’s speech was very enlightening and  encouraged all of us to put our best in everything that we do and wish to do.

Next came in Jekin, Neeraj and Anish group for singing songs.

Followed by Samata and Group for songs.

Preeti and Group presented “Fabulous 5” a dance.

Aparna and Group presented “The unbelievable Demons”

The highlight of the program was various dramas played by our students… and began with their first Drama “PAANI KA RAANG”.  Here one person tries to find out the colour of Water and discovers its various shades… Hilarious and weaved with punches and messages.

Followed by a singing performance of Khyati & Jiral

Charmi and Group presented a sizzling dance.

Tollywood was directly introduced by Sandeep Nair (Rajni Anna’s) and his group with songs that were fast and set the moods of audience on fire…..

PYAR KA PUNCHNAMA – A drama based on Students who fall in love as frequently as they breakup…. Nice and hilarious…

Hitika Sharma came next for a really good western classical song.

Dev and Group presented a dance with Gangnam style…

Next was Jeffrrey, Aarti Manthan for songs followed by BEAT BOX… the highlight of the progrom… JEFFREY was awesome as always with Beat Box.

Sampath and Group were next to perform

Next Drama was full of emotional driven and showcased the importance of parents in our life… the characters played were so real that it brought tears in the eyes of audience… MAA BAAP NAHIN MILENGE DUBARA was suitably titled for the drama.

Muddasir came next for a song followed by Saloni and Group for a dance

Ashwini did a beautiful Lavni and was appreciated by the crowd.

Sneha Patil sang a nice song followed by Revati and Groups dance

Tanvi and Manali did a good Lavni and were well syncronised.

NEERAJ and OMKAR sang good numbers and were appreciated well… with claps and chants for one more songs…

Finally before the curtained were down, Jaspal, Bhavini and their group presented BHANGRA… full of Punjabi flavour with fast numbers to their dances. BHALLE BHALLE

We stood for NATIONAL ANTHEM before we dispersed the Auditorium with a promise that we will come together next year to celebrate Annual Day with more programs.

We thank our Principal Dr. Vijay Joshi, Vice Principals, and all the volunteers, Cultural Forum Members, Painting Artists, Participants, Musicians, Lightmen, Teachers, HOD’s and Audience for this wonderful program….
